What is Dumpster Gang gameplay actually like?
You are a raccoon. You break into a building, take everything that is not bolted down, get out before pest control puts you in a cage, and then use the haul to decorate your hideout.
The loop, as described
- 1Get inLevels are described as built for vertical movement: rooftops, walls, vents. The way in is rarely the door, and the store text is explicit that raccoons reach places only a raccoon could.
- 2Take everythingPick up, throw, steal or smash nearly anything. Knock over bins, raid snacks, grab shiny junk. The described verb list is deliberately wide, which is what makes it a sandbox rather than a stealth game.
- 3Deal with the ExterminatorEnough chaos brings him out. He sets traps and can capture raccoons, and a captured teammate has to be rescued by the rest of the gang before the job is over.
- 4Go home and spend itBack at the hideout, stolen junk becomes decoration and you customise your raccoon. Hats with their own abilities are unlocked there too, though no currency, shop or unlock system has been described.
Where the description stops
Everything above comes from a store page, an announcement post and one trailer. That is enough to describe the shape of the game and nowhere near enough to describe how it plays.
No hands-on preview, gameplay breakdown or developer deep dive has been published. So there is no public information on how the physics feel, how forgiving the Exterminator is, whether missions are timed, what happens when a run fails, or how progression is paced.
Those are exactly the questions a guide would answer, and they are the reason this site does not have a strategy section yet. Writing one now would mean inventing rules, and invented rules stay in search results long after the real game contradicts them.

Gameplay questions
+What kind of game is Dumpster Gang?
A physics-driven co-op sandbox with missions. The store lists it under Action, Casual, Indie and Simulation, and the publisher describes its own catalogue as wacky, physics-driven games that are fun with friends.
+Is it a stealth game?
It has not been described as one. The framing is closer to chaos with consequences: you make a mess, the mess attracts the Exterminator, and then you deal with him. Nothing has been said about detection meters, vision cones or any of the usual stealth machinery.
+Is it a roguelike or does it have a campaign?
Neither word has been used. What has been described is missions you go out on and a hideout you return to between them. Whether that is a fixed campaign, procedural jobs, or something in between has not been explained.
+Is there combat?
Not in any described form. You can smash and throw things, and you avoid or escape the Exterminator rather than fighting him, at least as far as anything anyone has said publicly.
+How long is a session?
Unknown. No mission length, run length or total playtime has been mentioned.
